Funding when your business is young

Under six months trading? Purchase-order and invoice finance fund the deal, not your history.

Why history matters to most lenders

Most working capital lenders want six to twelve months of trading because statements are their main evidence. With less, the answer from them is usually no, however good the business.

Fund the order instead

Purchase-order finance pays your supplier to deliver an order you have already won. The funder looks at your customer and the order, so a short history matters less.

Invoice discounting advances cash against invoices your business customers will pay later. Again, your customers' strength carries the deal.

Build your file meanwhile

Open a business bank account now, run every sale through it, register for tax and keep your CIPC details current. By month six you will have the file most lenders want.

GoFund prepares and submits applications on your behalf; it is not a credit provider. Every amount, rate, turnaround and qualifying rule belongs to the finance house concerned, differs between them, and can change without notice. Only a finance house can approve credit.
